They all tell you that “Wise has the best rate” or “Remitly has zero fees” — both technically true. Neither tells you which provider delivers the most money to your recipient for your specific transfer amount.
The answer changes constantly. At $1,000 a $0-fee provider with a slightly worse rate usually wins. At $5,000 the rate advantage flips it. At $25,000 it's a different provider again. The recipient's country, payment speed, and time of month all shift the answer further.
So we built a system that runs the math every morning, for every corridor, at every common transfer size. The verdict is whatever today's data says. Nothing else.
We compare 6-9 providers per corridor: Wise, Remitly, Xoom, Western Union, MoneyGram, Aspora (for India-bound transfers), and a typical bank wire baseline. For each corridor we publish the best provider, the gap vs the next-best option, and the gap vs a bank wire — every morning at 6:30 AM EST.
The Crypto Gateway covers the stablecoin and Lightning Network alternative — USDC via Coinbase + Bitso for Mexico, Strike Lightning for Philippines, with honest caveats for the India corridor. Same comparison framework: total received, after every fee and spread.
Rankings are based solely on estimated total received after fees and FX markup. Whichever provider delivers the most local-currency for your amount that day ranks first. No exceptions, no preferred partners, no paid placement.
